Eddie is a career civil servant who was appointed Chief Inspector in June 2005 after four years as Director of Operations at the Official Solicitor and Public Trustee Office. His experience covers a wide range of operational, policy and corporate roles in government. In addition, he was an Inspector with HM Treasury from 1987-91 including two years as Director of Staff Inspection training for the Civil Service. In 1991-92 he assisited the Republic of Cyprus with the development and implementation of an Inspection programme. Eddie is a Non Executive Director of his local NHS Primary Care Trust. He is married with four children and lives in Colchester. His interests are mainly sport, particularly football and he coaches a youth side .

Arran Poyser's professional background spans both the probation service and local authority social services departments. He jointed the Department of Health Social Services Inspectorate in 1985 where he held a range of policy responsibilities including the Guardian ad litem and Reporting Officer Service. In 2000, Arran Poyser was seconded to the CAFCASS implementation team. In February 2001, he started his appointment in HMICA to head the CAFCASS inspection unit.

Colin Smith joined the Inspectorate from the education service, where he had been the headteacher of a large comprehensive school in Doncaster.

Margaret has worked in both education and the Civil Service. She joined the Inspectorate from Customs & Excise where, following a period as a VAT inspector, she was responsible for developing regional and national management assurance programmes.Margaret has worked in both education and the Civil Service. Margaret been a Director of HMICA since June 2003.
John Peacock (Business Support Manager)
John Peacock (Business Support Manager)
John is a career civil servant who worked for the Lord Chancellor's Department in a variety of posts prior to joining MCSI (now HMICA); most recently as a Senior Auditor with Internal Assurance Division. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Internal Auditing and Management.
